A Day of Action

Dear Friend,

The People’s Climate March will take place on Saturday, April 29 in Washington, DC. The March will bring solutions to the climate crisis, the problems that affect our communities and the threats to peace to Congress to demand action.

Everyone deserves access to clean air, safe drinking water and to live in a community that doesn't elevate their risk of exposure to toxins or environmental hazards. In fact, if you are black or brown or low-income, you're more likely to live in a neighborhood that's unsafe. One in three LGBTQ people identify as people of color.

The National LGBTQ Task Force is pleased to support the efforts of our good friends at Communications Workers of America (CWA) to provide transportation from your area to the Climate March on April 29!

CWA buses will depart from the following cities:

Manhattan, NYC, departing at 4:00 am

Newport News, VA, departing at 4:30 am

Syracuse, NY, departing at 2:00 am

West Trenton, NJ, departing at 6:00 am

CWA buses will disembark at Union Station in Washington, DC, and marchers will gather at the fountain in Columbus Circle, which is located directly in front of Union Station, between 9:00 and 9:40 a.m. CWA President Christopher Shelton will be speaking at the Labor Union Stage around 10:30 a.m. in front of the Labor Department Building. At the conclusion of this rally, all Labor Unions will join the People's Climate Movement March and head down Constitution Avenue toward the White House. A food box and water will be given to marchers before they re-board their respective buses.

If interested, you should contact Joseph McCue at 202-262-1389 or with your name and cell phone number to receive further details.

Thank you for helping with CWA's participation in this important action on Trump's 100th day in office. We're making our voices heard by the Trump Administration!
